Eversail Logistics Handling Steel Billets in China

Eversail Logistics (members in China) have handled a breakbulk shipment of steel billets shipped from Gangavaram Port, India.

Director at Eversail Logistics, Michael Chen explains; “M.V. Ru Yii arrived at Huangpu New Port with 15,432tns of prime steel billets (each measuring 12m in length) in 7,230 bundles. Our customer service team liaised with the wharf and ship agent in advance to organize the discharging procedure, custom clearance and distribution. The main challenge was due to an extremely tight delivery schedule.

Immediately after the arrival of the vessel, 3,745tns of the cargo was transhipped by barges directly to the end users while the rest was discharged and stowed in the terminal yard for onward distribution. The discharging was completed seamlessly within 48 hours which was initially expected to be 60 hours. This was the first lot of a year round contract with a total volume of 200,000tns.”
