G.P. Coordinamento Servizi (W.I.S.) with Big Delivery in Italy
G.P. Coordinamento Servizi (W.I.S.) in Italy was awarded the pre-carriage and FOB activities for the delivery of around 10,800cbm (2,800mtn) of project cargo and equipment from various origins in the country to hook at Porto Marghera in Venice. Both oversized and standard cargo has been collected from the Lombardia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions since January 2018 right up until nearly the very day of loading on board.
The most impressive item of the lot was a 229.20tn desalter with dimensions of 28.80 x 4.85 x 5.42m. The distance to cover from the production yard to the loading port was only around 5km but movement of such a large and heavy piece must always be carefully planned and a 16-axle SPMT was assembled in order to move the item overnight. On the route, a roundabout had to be completely dismounted in order to allow the transit of the desalter and re-installed after passing.
