PCN members in Mozambique, Globo Distribuidora are proud to announce they have been awarded the contract of the handling and transportation of bagged fertilizers.
4,192mtns of the bagged fertilizers were handled as a direct discharge from the vessel, Dubai Crowns in Beira Port (Mozambique) to be transported inland to Lilongwe and Blantyre by trucks. This shipment is this first part of a total of 12,000mtns and was discharged after the vessel berthed last Thursday 17th November.
Globo Distribuidora have organised a total of 300 x 30tn 3-axle trailers for the project including 4 of their own trucks with the other 296 trucks sub-contracted from their local transporter business partners. The challenging project will be ongoing for the next 4 months with around the same quantities for each vessel.
Mr João Chiboleca (Managing Director) comments; “Most of these fertilizers are imported from China and India are therefore we invite the PCN members from these areas as well as any other countries who may be handling such goods to our region to contact us. There is a lot of possible business to handle together for which we offer our services for vessels arriving including local haulage, warehousing and also inland transportation to Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia via Beira Port – We have the full knowledge, experience and capacities”.
