Westlink Logistics Safely Execute 2 Shipments of Pipes

Reliable and experienced PCN member in Australia, Westlink Logistics were recently contracted to execute two shipments of cargo totalling 8,500r/t for a geothermal energy project in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia.

Westlink provided a total logistics solution from the loading port in Tianjin, China to the discharge site in Palembang, Indonesia. The cargo consisted of carbon steel lined & seamless pipes in various diameters and the discharge operations in Palembang were completed on the 25th of January.

The project was completed on time and with Westlink’s usual high performance standards in safety with zero incidents. Their scope of work included:

  • Vessel chartering
  • Stowing & lashing plans
  • Pipe quality assurance checks & cargo readiness inspections at the port of loading
  • Supervision & coordination from China to Indonesia by Westlink’s experienced operations team
  • Ocean transit management & regular reporting
  • Coordination of port of discharge operations at Palembang, Indonesia
