Eastship Contracted as Logistics Partner in Plant Build

Eastship, our members from Romania, are pleased to report on a project they recently undertook, contracted as logistics partners. This project involves the transportation of gas turbines for a new cogeneration plant that has nearly reached completion.

Arguably the most essential piece of equipment for the cogeneration plant, the two SGT-750 gas turbines that Eastship delivered, will be used to transform natural gas into electricity.

Boris Bucur, General Manager of Rompetrol Energy, had this to say of the project:

“The installation of the turbines was one of the most important steps in the construction of the cogeneration plant, a large-scale project that will allow us to create a viable energy solution for the Petromidia platform, but also our National Energy System.”

The new power plant will generate approximately 80 MW of electricity – of which approximately 60-70 MW will be used for the consumption needs of the Petromidia platform.

“At the moment, the project is more than 80% completed.”
