Polaris International Projects Transport Construction Equipment
The project logistics division of Polaris Shipping, our members from the United Arab Emirates, are happy to share the completion of their latest project for a prestigious local client.
Polaris was approached by their client for a transport of around fifty-five units of used construction equipment.
This included Toyota vehicles, Fraste multi-drilling rigs, Komatsu excavators, and wheel loaders to Mauritania in the west of Africa.
“Our scope included door-to-door delivery with responsibility commencing upon pick-up from the suppliers local storage yard, up til delivery to Mauritania via Port Nouakchott.”
Due to the lack of regular liner break bulk or RO/RO possibilities to West Africa, Polaris planned with container operators for a shipment of special equipment using an assortment of DV’s, open tops and flat racks.
A few additional heavy units, weighing over 41 tons, were shipped as break bulk on a container vessel.
The project – which had a strict arrival deadline – was shipped within a period of two months to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
